Animation Suggestion Thursday!
Kirikou and the Sorceress is an amazing animated movie from France, it’s quirky and humorous, though not technically for kids. There’s lots of death and hatred, and what amazed me the most was its depiction of wisdom. Kirikou is the most wise and brave of his entire village, even though he was only just born. It’s sort’ve beautiful to see a character who is so smart overcoming the challenge of doing the right thing even though it is unpopular, or even forbidden. The story will definitely surprise and entertain you, I really don’t want to give anything away. It also helps that it has one of the best opening lines ever: “Mother, give birth to me!”
